City Hearts

City Hearts is a residential programme for women overcoming serious life issues such as drug and alcohol addictions, self harm, unplanned pregnancies, depression and eating disorders. The project also provides a refuge for women coming out of prostitution and exploitation.

Fiona and Andy of ‘The IT Trainer’ have previously sponsored charities but after having health issues and personal challenges including losing her Dad suddenly, Fiona was immediately touched by City Hearts, especially hearing the girls’ stories and seeing the passion and commitment of the team supporting them.  Fiona and Andy love organising events and building teams to raise funds, especially for such a worthy cause.

Previous events arranged by The IT Trainer include....

  • 'A Coventry Way Challenge’ 40 miles around Coventry – either doing the full 40 miles or as part of a relay (18th April 2010)
  • 'Gym a thon’ – at Barclays Bank, Pinstone St, Sheffield.  Some of Sheffield’s business owners including Fiona and Andy of The IT Trainer, walking, running or cycling at least 1 mile on a treadmill or exercise bike, raising awareness (and funds) for City Hearts (5th June 2010)
  • ‘Sheffield Round Walk (14 miles)’ – September 2010.  Participants walked either the full 14 miles or as part of a relay team.  Checkpoints sponsored by local businesses including ‘The IT Trainer’ and Herbalife (11th September 2010).

Total funds raised from the 3 events is almost £3000
